The international Core Team met from 13 to 15 October to work on the next edition of CATS. It was a very inspiring and stimulating week-end for members, both young people and adults!
The team is made of members of the executive team of CATS, of young people of MEOW and of consultants in the area of children’s rights and participation. We analyzed the results of the evaluation of this summer conference to take into account the remarks of participants and try to ameliorate the proposed activities. We also explored the thematic of the 2018 edition “Safe Together – working to end violence against children”, by thinking about the means that will allow children to participate to the building of a safer world.
France : towards the creation of a parliamentary delegation on children’s rights?
Initiatives of Changes France, one of the associations that organizes CATS,is part of the collective AEDE, which works on the improvement of children’s rights in France. An important stake given the fact that there are 3 millions children living under the poverty line in France.
The CATS team members went to the round table “For a Republic that guarantees children’s rights: which strategy? Which policies?”at the National Assembly, organized by the collective AEDE. The President of the National Assembly, François de Rugy, was the first key note speaker.
The CATS 90 Day Challenge : what happened until now?
6 initiatives launched in the context of the 90 Day Challenge are under realization, including the “Teaspoon of beads” project by D’Arcy Lynn (Australia). His challenge was to apply a concept of peace beads, each beads symbolizing a good deed, with the idea of reaching a full bracelet of good deed beads. “My 90 days of action have been very fruitful as I have continued to connect with people from the conference and put ideas into action”, D’Arcy says. Indeed,a walk from Bucharest to Bratislava through Budapest will be organized next year thanks to him! He also continued his research on culture of peace and you can participate to the survey by clicking on the link bellow:
